About this workbook
An independent set of worksheets on what it costs to employ someone in the Netherlands, written for founders and finance leads building a hiring budget.
Arc Placement Group is an independent guide to one question: what does it cost, all in, to employ a person in the Netherlands? Salary is only the first line. Employer contributions, holiday allowance, pension, sick-leave liability, payroll or employer-of-record fees and the 30% ruling all change the figure a finance lead has to budget for.
We write for founders and finance teams who need a number before they commit to a hiring route. Every article is built like a worksheet: the line items, what drives each one, a worked example and a year-one range, with the source of every figure named next to it.
How we handle numbers
- We only print figures we can trace to a published source, and we say which source.
- Provider prices are quoted as published on the date shown; they change, so check before you sign.
- Examples are indicative. Your contract, sector agreement and the employee's situation decide the final figure.
What this site is not
We are not a payroll provider, tax adviser or law firm, and nothing here is individual advice. For a binding figure, ask a provider for a written quote or ask a Dutch payroll or tax professional to check your case.
